This policy covers NBPS on Apple TV, the Apple TV version of Name-Board Pickup-Sign (“the App”), and the Send to TV feature in the iPhone, iPad and Mac app. Both are published by Nicolai Olesen (“we”, “us”).
In short: the App collects nothing. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. Signs go from your phone to your TV over your own network and stay on those devices.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent or share any personal information.
The App contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking code. It does not create an account, ask you to sign in, or send anything to us. We have no access to your signs, your images, your device identifiers or any other data on your devices.
2. Sending a sign to your Apple TV
When you use Send to TV on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, the App looks for Apple TVs running NBPS on the same local network. To do this, iOS asks you once for Local Network access.
- The sign — the names and text you typed, its design, and the images and fonts it uses — goes directly from your device to your Apple TV across your local network. It does not pass through the internet or through any server of ours.
- The TV shows a four-digit code that must be entered on your phone before it will accept a sign, so other people on a shared network can’t put signs on your TV. The transfer itself is not encrypted, so we recommend using it on a network you trust, such as your home or office Wi-Fi.
- Your phone remembers the code for each TV it has paired with, so you don’t have to enter it every time.
You can turn Local Network access off at any time in Settings → NBPS → Local Network. Everything else in the App keeps working; only Send to TV stops.
3. Information stored on your Apple TV
To show your signs, the App saves the following locally, inside its own storage on the Apple TV, where it is not visible to us or to other apps:
- Signs you send or set up on the TV — names, text, colours, fonts and layout choices.
- Images, logos and fonts that came with a sign or that you added on the TV.
- The TV’s pairing code, so it stays the same between launches.
If you added artwork, a logo or a font by pasting a link, the App remembers that link. Apple TV may clear stored files to free space, and when it does, the App downloads them again from the same link. That request goes directly to the address you entered; we do not host, see or log it.
This information never leaves your Apple TV through the App.
4. Tracking and third parties
The App does not track you, does not use the Advertising Identifier, and shares no data with any third party, because no data is ever sent to us or anyone else.
Apple may collect its own download and usage statistics under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We receive only anonymous, aggregate sales reports from Apple.
5. Deleting your data
Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. To remove everything from your Apple TV, delete NBPS from the TV: tvOS removes all of the App’s signs, images, fonts and settings with it.
6. Children’s privacy
The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
7. Your rights
Privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights over personal data held about you. We never receive your data, so we hold none. Everything described above stays on your own devices, under your control. If you have a question, contact us using the details on this website. EU and UK users may also complain to their local data protection authority.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version changes how the App handles your information, we will update this policy and the “Last updated” date before that version ships, and note the change in the App Store release notes.
